Osteopathic assessment

The osteopathic assessment consists of pain reproduction tests, a postural assessment and an evaluation of the tissues. It is a fundamental step to identify postural imbalances and musculoskeletal dysfunctions in order to assess the patient’s profile and determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy

Manual therapy is a therapeutic approach that emphasizes the use of hands to perceive and treat musculoskeletal disorders. At the heart of my holistic approach lies fascial therapy and osteopathic thrusts. Fascial therapy targets specifically the fascia, the connective tissues that envelops, supports and connects the structures of the body. Techniques employed such as rhythmic mobilization or sustained pressure allow to impact the tissue and its different layers to hydrate and release it from adhesions. The other key aspect of manual therapy is also the osteopathic thrust, a rapid and precise joint manipulation technique used to restore mobility and release tension around the limiting structure.

Visceral

Visceral osteopathy focuses on the assessment and treatment of intestinal transit to promote its smooth functioning with its autonomic nervous system. As a specialist in visceral osteopathy, I mobilise structures with tissue relaxation and addressing adhesions to improve digestion.

Dry-Needling

Dry-Needling

I perform dry needling, the therapeutic approach for treating musculoskeletal pain and its trigger points. During a dry needling session, dry needles are inserted into the myofascial tissue. This can result in rapid muscle contractions, more commonly known as ‘twitches.’ Dry needling has a stimulating effect for accelerated healing of muscle injuries, leading to a return to homeostasis and optimal muscle function.

Cupping

Cupping is integral part of my treatment in combination with other techniques to optimize treatment outcomes. Cups are placed on the skin, creating a partial vacuum that draws soft tissues into the cup. This action creates traction on the subcutaneous tissues, promoting blood circulation, drainage, and release of adhesions between different layers to achieve softer tissue.
